Then it was that the Morríoghan, daughter of Earnmas, came out of the barrow to lay low Cú Chulainn, for she had sworn at the reaving of Reaghamhain that she would come to undo Cú Chulainn the time he was fighting against a worthy foe at the reaving of Cuaille. Thereafter came the Morríoghan in the shape of a white, red-eared heifer, with fifty heifers about her, and a chain of white-bronze between each two heifers of them. [???] Cú Chulainn slung a stone at her, that he broke one of the Morríoghan's eyes.
Thither came the Morríoghan again, in the shape of a slippery, black eel down the stream. Then came she on the linn and twisted around beneath Cú Chulainn's two feet. While Cú Chulainn was freeing himself, Lóch wounded him crosswise through the wall of his breast.
Thereafter came the Morríoghan in the shape of a rough, grey-red bitch-wolf. [???] ???? Cú Chulainn ??? Lóch wounded him. Thereupon, anger arose within Cú Chulainn, and he wounded Lóch with the Gae Bulga, that it thurled through his heart into his breast.
